Teen Leadership Program

Summer Teen Leadership Program

The Channel 3 Kids Camp Teen Leadership Program is for teens ages 14-15 years old. We offer both a summer program and year-round program. The programs include educational and recreational activities that include community service projects, off-site field trips, guest presenters, and experiential opportunities to develop leadership skills. Teens who were previous C3KC campers are chosen and invited to join this program.

Our summer Teen Leadership Program is an overnight camp program. Teens will participate in a variety of activities that build leadership skills and have an opportunity to be involved with the younger campers as they follow the guidance of our counselors and counselors-in-training staff.

The program only accepts individuals that have been C3KC campers and have gone through an application process that includes a written recommendation and interview. This program was designed as a way to build a strong pool of Counselors-In-Training. The years in the teen program are a training ground for our future Counselors-In-Training and Junior Counselors. Channel 3 Kids Camp’s Teen program is a unique, highly regarded example of how great kids become great leaders. Those accepted into the program are individuals we observe as having leadership capability, responsible behavior, and a desire to grow and learn as they continue into adulthood.

The overnight program runs for two four week sessions during summer.

All applicants must have previously attended Channel 3 Kids Camp and have been invited to apply to the program. All applications for summer 2021 are due by April 1st.

Year-Round Teen Leadership Program

Our Camp Leadership Program is a powerful youth development experience; the program complements the academic skills that are learned in school with experiential life skills. Teens meet throughout the non-summer season for weekend retreats at camp.  The activities provide training, leadership, skill-building and community service involvement.

Teens ages 14-15 years old that demonstrate leadership, integrity, respect for others, and initiative over the course of the season will be chosen to apply for the Camp Leadership program. Teens age 16, that have completed the Leadership Program, are eligible to apply for the CIT program which will prepare them to become Junior Counselors. Participation in the weekend retreats does not guarantee a spot in our summer programs.
