Summer Day Camp 

For over a century, Channel 3 Kids Camp has been an exciting playground and retreat for Connecticut boys & girls. When you bring your child here, you are bringing them to an expert summer camp resource spread over a beautiful 150 acres. C3KC offers day camping programs for children ages 3-13. Our programs allow campers to design their own adventures through a wide variety of camp activities. Every day your child will experience something new with self-selected activities designed to broaden self-esteem, communication, and respect for others. We offer safe, active, affordable, and fun programs for every camper.  Day camp runs for 9 different sessions, in one-week intervals.

How old does my child have to be to come to camp?
Day Camp: 3-5; 6-13; Special Needs 6-18
Special Groups: Varies by program


How much does it cost for my child to come to camp?
Day Camp tuition is $275/wk, and Preschool Day Camp is $300/wk. If your child requires additional support based on their needs, the fees depend on the staff-to-camper ratios they need.


What are the hours for day camp?
Day camp runs Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 5:30 AM. 


How do I register for camp?

  • Visit our website at www.channel3kidscamp.org and click on the "Register" button on the top of the page.

  • You will have to create an account the first time you use our system.  Parents/Guardians can complete our online registration with a desktop, laptop, or mobile device.
     

How do I know what to send with my child to camp?
Once registration is complete and your child is confirmed, we will provide you with a packing list.


What if I have to cancel my registration?
Registration cancellations received within 14 days of the start of the camp session will not be eligible for a refund. Participants canceling due to medical illness with written doctor’s orders may request a full refund.


What programs do you offer at camp?
Archery, Martial Arts, Arts & Crafts, Performing Arts, Swimming, Sports, High Ropes, Digital Media, Team-Building, Special Guests, Camp-Wide Games & Activities, Nature, Pioneering, and Hiking.


Tell me more about your program for campers with special needs.

Camp is an inclusive environment. Children of all abilities are accepted at Channel 3 Kids Camp.

  • We offer 1:2 and 1:3 ratios for campers with additional needs. They will be paired with a cabin group for all rotations throughout the day.

  • We provide 24-hour Nursing support and supervision for all campers.

  • Our programs are challenge by choice, and we allow all campers to participate to the best of their ability.
     

Do you provide transportation?
We do not provide transportation for day campers.

Who will be my child’s counselor?
We host a diverse staff throughout the summer. All of our staff have been interviewed and thoroughly background checked. They all have experience working with children, and many of them have risen through our program, starting as campers, then CITs, and now staff. Additionally, we welcome staff from many overseas countries, and they bring an additional level of diversity to our program.


What is a typical day at camp like?
Breakfast is served at 8:00 am, and then all campers will rotate through 7 activity periods that are roughly 1 hour each. Throughout the day, all campers will participate in fun & games, swimming lessons and pool time, team-building, a daily program rotation, and a choice of two camper-selected program areas. 

Do you have medical staff on-site?

Yes, we have 24-hour nursing care, and there are two nurses on-site for most weeks. 

What will my child eat while at camp? 

Day campers are provided with cereal, breakfast, and a snack. Lunch is not provided to day campers, so please pack a lunch.

What if my child has food allergies?

We will make every effort to accommodate all food allergies and medical dietary restrictions.   If you have questions, please contact Chef Matt.

Our fee schedule is based on the Summer Food Service Guideline set by the US Government. 

If the child receives free/reduced lunch at school because the family qualifies based on the income guidelines, not due to a district designation, the fee is $155.00 / week.  

To calculate your child's camp fee, please use this equation:

Annual Household Income divided by # of people in the household (parents & children) = Per household member income

Ex: 4 person household with an annual income of $75,000 has an income of $18,750 per household member. The camp fee is $180.00 / week. 

Day Camp rates shown do not apply to children that require 1:2 or 1:3 care. Children requiring special care must speak to Deb Walters, to discuss pricing based on specific needs.
