David Davis, Director of Food Services
Dave came to the camp in August of 2011, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in nearly all facets of the restaurant and food service industry. Most recently in sales, he looks forward to serving wholesome quality food here at camp.

Meet Our Year Round Staff
Mark Harrington, Director of Maintenance
Has been with the camp since 2003, maintaining our grounds, buildings, machinery and systems in top notch condition. He is essential for smooth camp operations as leader of the maintenance program. Mark also helps organize all of our volunteer days, is a Camp Venture's instructor and dedicated support to our summer program.
Melissa Shea, Director of Programs
Joining the camp in 2009, Melissa is responsible for camper registration, recruitment, and oversees our year round camp programs. Melissa graduated from Iowa State University, bringing 10 years of creative problem solving, client relations, planning, and information processing in the Procurement Industry. A Vermont native, she enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her dog Bentley.
Denise K. Hornbecker, Executive Director
Now entering her 5th year as the Executive Director, Denise brings an extensive range of management, development and financial experience to the organization. Denise is responsible for the day to day management of the organization. She is focusing on expanding fundraising and program initiatives.
Dave Meizels, Camp Director
In his 15th year as Director, Dave oversees all of the summer staff, activity, Teen Leadership development, and educational programming. He brings with him over 28 years of experience in environmental education, team building facilitation, and high quality overnight summer camping. Dave oversees our year round facility use and is a facilitator in team building workshops.
Sue Vining, Creative Projects Coordinator
Sue studied Graphic Design at Central Connecticut State University and brings 15 years of experience with Non-Profit Organization Communications. Sue oversees the graphic design of developmental and promotional materials for the camp.
Christine T. Homa, Director of Development
Joined us in 2007 and is responsible for the successful writing and identification of grant opportunities supporting the camp. She also works on special donor projects with corporations and foundations while building relationships with volunteers. She has 21 years of experience in political and non-profit fundraising and holds a Law degree from Quinnipiac.
Amber Wakley, Dir. of Marketing & Communications
Joined the camp in 2007 and is responsible for public affairs activities, helps support special events, creates promotional materials, oversees, online marketing and maintaines the camp website. Amber studied Organizational Communications and Visual/Verbal Art & Design at Keuka College in the Finger Lakes Region of New York.
Matt Bonneau, Food Service Coordinator
Joined the Channel 3 Kids Camp in 2008 as the Food Service Coordinator. He brings over twelve years of experience in the food and beverage industry, assuring smooth operations in the kitchen, Matt supports food preparation, maintaining the kitchen, and overall success of the food service program. He is a great addition to the camp with growing programs and onsite catering needs.
Carolee Lamarre, Manager of Special Events
J. Peter Carlin, Program Registrar
Prior to joining Channel 3 Kids Camp in 2010, Peter spent 30 years in the insurance industry in various commercial underwriting and management positions. As Program Registrar, he is well-positioned to apply his skills and experience in information management and application processing. His primary task is enrolling children in the Camps many sessions and programs. Peter is a University of Connecticut, majoring in History and English.
Claire Rich, Housekeeping Coordinator
Deb Walters, Director of Administration
Joined the camp in 2008 and is responsible for coordinating of all business related aspects of the Channel 3 Kids Camp. She provides administrative support, accounting assistance, and supports all department members in achieving annual budgeted goals. Deb also works continuously on donation projects, generating many needed items for a successful camp.
